Program Note:

The great composer György Ligeti encouraged his students to throw wrenches in their compositional systems. This philosophy means so much to me as a creative person. In this work, surreal organisms inhabiting various bodies burst out suddenly and unexpectedly. Serpents, branches, and other creatures tear out of chords, chorales, and melodies. The movies Alien (1979) and Annihilation (2018) come to mind in relation to the music.
