Program Note:

This work has elements of Classical myth woven throughout. In the first movement I imagined a bizarre encounter with a well-dressed zombie at some sort of carnival. The second movement depicts a boat journey through an ominous swamp in deep night. The final movement represents the triumph and return of a hero, but elements of before find ways to become a part of him.
